"Diwheel" Project
Group fabrication of a Diwheel for a Mechanical Design course. Features include a differential, 5 gears, brakes, open cockpit and a recumbent riding position
This project started as a concept and was completely modeled and analyzed in SolidWorks before beginning fabrication. Besides the bevel gears, all components were recycled from an abandoned bicycle or fabricated from raw materials using a plasma cutter, a CNC mill, a CNC lathe or welded using steel tubing. My contribution included CAD design, mill and lathe operations, and the shifting assembly using an abandoned bicycle.
